Your smile is the most expressive part of your body. It can portray a huge variety of emotions, such as love, joy and happiness. At the dental practice of Bradley Cohn, DDS, we want you to have the sparkling and beautiful smile you are meant to have. From tooth whitening to complete cosmetic restoration, we have the experience and skill to correct your dental impediments.

Our cosmetic dentistry procedures include:

Teeth Whiting: Many people hesitate to smile because of stained or yellow teeth. That’s a real shame considering that modern teeth whitening methods can really improve the appearance of many people’s teeth. Here at Dr. Cohn’s, you’ll learn all about tooth whitening, and we hope to find a method that’s perfect for you.

Natural Colored Fillings: Tooth-colored fillings, or posterior composite resins, can be used to replace unsightly silver or dark fillings. This gives the teeth a more natural appearance. This bonding procedure for the back teeth takes a bit more time and costs slightly more than silver/mercury fillings, but the esthetic results are amazing. Recent studies indicate that bonded fillings can restore a tooth up to 80 percent of its original integrity because the walls of the tooth are virtually bonded together. The life expectancy of posterior composites is 4-7 years.

Dental Implants: Dental implants are an attractive option to dentures or a dental bridge and can last a lifetime. No longer do patients have to struggle with loose-fitting dentures that can cause difficulty chewing and make it uncomfortable to smile, nor do healthy teeth have to be cut down to accommodate a dental bridge. With our dental implant procedure, you can leave our office with a natural-looking healthy smile that you can call your own.

Fresh Breath Therapy: Breath malodor, or bad breath, is a condition experienced by many people, and it often goes untreated or is accepted as normal. However, it is treatable and it need not affect your daily life anymore. Bad breath is usually caused by sulfur producing bacteria that live on the surface of your tongue and within your throat. Poor oral hygiene, food trapping, gum disease, tooth decay, sinusitis and dry mouth all contribute to bad breath. A visit to the dentist is the first step to getting rid of bad breath forever. Your first visit will involve an assessment of the condition, oral hygiene instructions and a thorough scale and polish. A follow-up visit will be needed around six weeks later to re-evaluate the condition.

Porcelain Veneers: Porcelain veneers are an excellent solution to many kinds of dental imperfections. Teeth that are chipped, discolored, weakened, or irregularly shaped can be made stronger and more attractive with dental veneers. During the treatment, ultra-thin shells of extremely durable and natural-looking porcelain are custom-made for you and are laid over your teeth. The translucent nature of the porcelain material means that your veneers will be nearly indistinguishable from the rest of your teeth. The porcelain is also highly stain resistant, allowing your veneers to stay stain free longer. The imperfections in your natural teeth will no longer be visible, and your smile will be more attractive and stronger.

Bridges: If you are missing a tooth or have a severely damaged tooth that must be removed, Dr. Cohn may recommend a bridge to restore the health and beauty of your smile. Bridgework is permanently attached to the adjoining teeth and is referred to as a fixed restoration, as opposed to removable restorations such as partial dentures. Dr. Cohn would be pleased to evaluate your dental condition and help you determine if bridgework is the best restoration option for your needs.

Crowns: Crowns, sometimes called caps, look and function just like natural teeth. Dr. Cohn may recommend a crown if your tooth has such damage that it cannot hold a filling, or if your tooth is cracked or broken and in danger of injuring the root if left unattended. A crown covers your tooth completely. It fits snugly at the gum line and protects what remains of the natural tooth. Dr. Cohn offers porcelain crowns that match the rest of your teeth, without a dark metal line, and keep your smile looking natural and healthy.

CEREC or Chairside Economical Restoration of Esthetic Ceramics: This is a revolutionary development in restorative and cosmetic dentistry. This state-of-the-art system uses computer-imaging technology to produce a high-quality, long-lasting ceramic restoration that perfectly matches the rest of your teeth - right in Dr. Bradley Cohn's office! With CEREC, you don't have to wait for days or weeks while your crown, filling, or veneer is made in an off-site dental laboratory, nor do we inconvenience you by asking you to return for a second visit to have it placed.

With CEREC, your restoration can be performed in a single session - usually in about an hour. The durable ceramic material looks so natural; it blends beautifully with the rest of your teeth. The speed, quality, and convenience of the CEREC technology make it the perfect choice for any dental patient. Invisaline®: Dr. Cohn offers Invisalign®, an alternative to traditional metal braces. Invisalign® is a dramatically different way to straighten teeth. Using a series of clear, custom-molded, removable retainers, your teeth can be straightened without any metal, bands, or brackets. Over the course of your treatment, as you proceed through your set of retainers, your teeth will gradually move into their new, more attractive position. Many people complete an Invisalign® treatment and achieve a beautiful new smile in only about a year. Best of all, the aligners are removable, so you can eat, drink, and care for your teeth as usual throughout the treatment. No one will even know you are wearing braces!
